http://www.mlanet.org/awards/grants/prodev.html

clinical settings with the support needed for educational or research activities. This award was established in 1996, and is
given twice each year.

http://www.mlanet.org/awards/grants/research.html

The purpose of this grant is to provide support for research, development, or demonstration projects that will help to
promote excellence in the field of health sciences librarianship and information sciences. Grants range from $100 to $1000.
Grants will not be given to support an activity that is operational in nature or has only local usefulness. More than one award
may be granted in a year.

Technical Services Section Research Committee Continuing Education
Grant Request (MLA)

http://library.umsmed.edu/tss/ResearchCom.html

The MLA Technical Services Section (TSS) is committed to supporting the research needs of its members. Our approach is
to subsidize the continuing education costs of members who wish to pursue research in health sciences librarianship, but may
lack to means to do so. TSS will provide one annual grant to a TSS member who has taken (or proposes to take) a continuing education class directed at developing research skills. This grant will cover the actual cost of the course--up to the cost of the
most expensive, single-day MLA CE course. All incidental expenses, including transportation, room and board are the
responsibility of the successful applicant.

Donald A. B. Lindberg Research Fellowship (MLA)
http://www.mlanet.org/awards/grants/lindberg.html

The Lindberg Research Fellowship Endowment, established in 2003, will provide a $25,000 grant, awarded annually by MLA through a competitive grant process. The purpose of this fellowship is to fund research aimed at expanding the research
knowledge base, linking the information services provided by librarians to improved health care and advances in biomedical
research.

documentation of the results of their work. The Jury would welcome proposals that involve innovative uses of technology

Continuing the American Library Association's commitment to diversity, the ALA Office for Diversity began sponsorship of a Diversity Research Grant program in 2002 to address critical gaps in the knowledge of diversity issues within library and
information science. The Diversity Research Grant consists of a one-time $2000 annual award for original research and
a $500 travel grant to attend and present at ALA Annual Conference. Three grants are awarded each year.

organized and operated. Proposals must have a wide applicability to the entire special libraries community.

National Leadership Grants for Libraries (IMLS)
http://www.imls.gov/grants/library/lib_nlgl.asp

Successful proposals will have national impact and provide models that can be widely adapted or replicated by others
to extend the benefit of federal support. Such proposals will reflect an understanding of current issues and needs related to
library services and will have a far-reaching impact throughout the library community. Projects will provide creative
solutions on issues of national importance and provide leadership for other organizations. Categories of Funding include
Advancing Learning Communities, Building Digital Resources,
and Research and Demonstration. Research and Demonstration grants will support basic and applied research and demonstration projects to test potential solutions to
problems in a real-world environment. All types of libraries, except federal and for-profit libraries, may apply. Grant awards
