Analysis of the Health Sciences Printed Journal E-Pages

Context: During the last several years, e-pages have become an additional bibliographic variable in the identification and location of literary material.

Objective: Analyze printed journal e-pages in terms of their content, accessibility, identification, licensing, print subscriptions, author's awareness, publisher's responsibility to authors, and archival issues.

Method: Direct observation of both printed and electronic versions of journals containing e-­pages. Investigate various searching tools. Observe licensing agreements. Interview authors and publishers.

Results: Possible results of this study would include the determination of the approximate number of e-page printed health sciences journals, table of contents accessibility, database format identification, database searching format identification, inclusion of e-pages with print subscriptions, inclusion of e-pages with electronic version subscriptions, author's awareness of e-page publication only, publisher's format obligation to authors, archival intent and format.
